Superintendent Jamie Bente provided the club with an update on their district
- Nate Molitor and Cassie Roaple (spelling) have taken new positions as the FHS principal and Community Education Director
- Roosevelt Elementary has been reorganized to be a pre-kindergarten and kindergarten-only school- Amy Bouma will be the principal in that building
- Lincoln and Jefferson Elementary will remain a traditional 1-5 grade school
- Ashley Bednar will be the principal at Lincoln Elementary
- Spanish immersion classes are going live this year, and they will be offered in kindergarten to second grade
- Budget- After years of struggling with budgets, the district has balanced its budget and believes it will be able to carry that forward in the future. Jamie explained that this is rare for a district, and he was proud of this accomplishment
Enrollment- these numbers continue to be up and then down. The district currently has 194 incoming kindergarten students and counting. Currently, the enrollment numbers are up for the district. Jaime mentioned that the STEM school closing has brought some students to the district. Jamie reminded everyone that our public schools are more diverse than Minneapolis public schools. Jamie told everyone that the district aligns with only Wilmar and St. Cloud public schools
