Each Sunday Our Savior's Lutheran Church has a separate offering specifically for a local community organization. Each month a they make a new selection and in June it was to support Rotary International's effort to eliminate polio in the world. In1987 there were more than 350,000 new cases of polio in 120 countries. Since then Rotary has led effort to vaccinate more than 6 billion children under five years of age. This year there has been fewer than 50 cases in the Pakistan and Afghanistan. Faribault Rotarian Dick Huston agreed to match the first $1000. Due to the help of groups in the church and a generous
parishioner who had had polio as a child the church raised $3000. Faribault Rotary has sent $4000 to Rotary International to help eliminate polio in the world.
