What is Little Falcons? It is a K-5 youth activities program 3. – mostly
physical activities sports but can be any sort of program.
Parents get to see how much fun and enjoyment their kids are having 4.
when they participate in these programs.
Started with a group that wanted to get youth more engaged. Notable 5.
persons in that group were Becky Ford, Chad Wolff, and Ken Hubert.
6. Needed a lot of donations to be able to get the program going.
7. Main funding comings from Rotary and the Putrah Foundation.
Little Falcons provides a quick exposure and not a lot of commitment for 8.
participants to get into a beginner program to see if they like it.
Initial goal was to increase participation numbers at the high school, but 9.
has developed much more byproducts including improved connections
between the youth participants and 8-12th graders that help with the
program in various activities.
Little Falcons is a very fluid program – as years have gone by, LF has 10.
partnered with associations in various sports including – golf, cross
country, soccer, hockey, swimming, tennis, and baseball.
Important aspect is using high school athletes as mentors in these 11.
programs.
12. Highlights this past year include how successful the Hockey Association
Little Falcons events were, as well as Cheer, Golf, Boys Soccer, Girls
Soccer, Wrestling, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Archery, Tennis,
Baseball/Fastpitch, Dance, Swimming, Volleyball, Track and Field, and
Football. Bowling will be happening soon as well!
Lueken was very excited to share the great successes of the L13. ittle Falcons
program. - pointed out all the positive comments and photos on the hand
out.
Faribault Rotary recently donated $10,000 to the Little Falcons program to 14.
continue the great efforts they are doing for Faribault youth.
Ryan and Amanda answered some questions about Little Falcons from 15.
Rotarians and again thanked Faribault Rotary for their contributions to the
program.
