Joel Olson was our speaker this week. Students like to call him--- Joelson.

Joel grew up in Faribault. He is married to Elisa who works for St. Olaf. Together, they have three kids- Will, Abby and Lauren. Will is a second Lt. in the Air Force. Abby and Lauren are currently attending Purdue and St. Thomas.
"We are constantly working on blending out family. We have been together for 8 years and the journey has been filled with tears and laughter. We are still figuring it out."
During 2020 they adopted a puppy, Lincoln. They thought he would be about 50 lbs., but he is 95 lbs. today.

Joel graduated from Faribault in 1987. He enlisted in the Air Force as a medical tech stationed in Albuquerque, NM. He was deployed to Dessert Storm and spent 6 months in Saudi Arabia and Oman. After the Air Force he attended St. Cloud State and received a degree in Special Education (1994) followed by a Masters of Education with a license as a k-12 Principal from the U of M (2000).
