Sigrid Holmgren and Anika Gliem – shared their experiences at Camp Enterprise
Brandon Gliem introduced the speakers, Sigrid Holmgren and Anika Gliem. Anika is Brandon’s daughter. Rotary Club of Faribault sponsored the two Faribault High School students to attend Camp Enterprise this past Fall.
Both Anika and Sigrid are Officers for FHS DECA. They attended Camp Enterprise November 6-8, 2025. They wanted to say thank you to the Rotary Club of Faribault for sponsoring them. They got the opportunity to meet many different people at Camp Enterprise.
They worked on case studies and were placed into different teams. Each team member was assigned different roles such as CEO, CFO, COO, HR, Legal Team, and CMO/Sales.
They received prompts and had 48 hours to build an entire business related to their assigned specialty. They had meetings and a lot of work was put in to develop plans for their case studies. They followed a budget plan, manufacturing plans, and developed plans to explain how they would handle their case study. Another thing they got to do at Camp Enterprise was having the chance to listen to several really good guest speakers.
Anika and Sigrid also provided a Faribault Area Lovable Apparel link for Rotarians. They are selling shirts focusing on our community. They wanted to share awareness of this fundraiser, which will support the Faribault DECA program.
What is DECA? - is an international association of high school and college students and teachers of marketing, management, and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service. The organization prepares leaders and entrepreneurs for careers and education in marketing, finance, hospitality, management, and other business areas.
A little bit about both students - Anika is a Junior at FHS – she plays soccer and hockey, she is a DECA officer, and enjoys helping with after school activities. She plans to go to college and become an elementary school special education teacher.
Sigrid is also a Junior at FHS – she is in cross country, is also a DECA officer, and works at Lincoln Elementary after school. She plans to go to college for business but is not sure yet.
Both Anika and Sigrid answered questions that Rotarians had.
Great job presenting your experience with Rotary today!
