Finally, Fellowship time became quite comical as we reminisced why 1984 was, in fact, the best year in history. Martha Brown and Mayor Spooner graduated that year. Ellie, Sommer and Paul were all born that year. George was 54 years old in 1984. And finally, after consulting the internet, "When Doves Cry" by Prince was actually the number one song in 1984. So, just for fun and homage to the very best year in history, the Olympics were held in Los Angeles, Apple computers were launched, the first 3D printer was released, CD players were invented, Bruce Springsteen released "Born in the USA", along with Prince's "Purple Rain", the first female pilot flew a Boeing 747, Prince Charles was born, The Terminator hit theaters, Papa John's Pizza opened, The phrase "Where's the beef" entered American vernacular, a new home cost $79,000, a movie cost $2.50, and most unfortunately- women started wearing parachute pants. 1984 was a very fine year.
