Surad Academy

James Wheland and many young guests joined us this week from the Surad Academy school as a celebration and reward for their strong reading skills. The kids were so sweet and during fellowship one little girl added a dollar and thanked Dr. Hanson. "Thanks for being our eye doctor!" The kids were very well behaved and seemed to enjoy their time at Rotary. One of the students recited the following Rotary poem for our club:

In the heart of our town, where friendships bloom bright,
The Rotary Club gathers, spreading their light.
With hands joined together, they strive for the best,
A beacon of hope, in their hearts they invest.

They nurture the youth, planting seeds of great dreams,
Teaching them courage, or so it seems.
With workshops and mentoring, they guide them with care,
Empowering children, helping them dare.

From early dawn meetings to laughter-filled nights,
They plan and they dream, reaching new heights.
With service as purpose, they give without pause,
Their passion ignites, for a noble cause.

They feed the hungry, they shelter the lost,
They give of their time, no matter the cost.
In every small gesture, in every kind deed,
The Rotary Club plants a compassionate seed.

Through leadership camps and projects they share,
They teach young ones to lead, to show that they care.
Inspiring the future, with wisdom and grace,
The children are rising, ready to embrace.

So here’s to the members, with hearts full of cheer,
Who work hand in hand, making leaders appear.
In the tapestry woven, their threads brightly gleam,
The Rotary Club shines, fulfilling the dream.

Together they flourish, together they stand,
A testament to love, a united band.
In the heart of our town, their legacy grows,
In the spirit of service, the Rotary Club glows.
