Good day FRYS Membership!
What a gorgeous couple days of weather Mother Nature has provided for us after Mother Nature delivered her wrath on the community last week. Although I have no data to verify what I am about to say other than anecdotal evidence, Mother Nature's wrath resulted in millions of dollars in damages across Faribault and likely tens of millions in total for the whole path of the storm (reports of softball sized hail over in Kilkenny), so it's about time we get some nice weather to lift our spirits!
Personally, Mother Nature left me quite depressed after I received my estimate of $12K in damages to my vehicle, which I get to fork over $5K in for the deductible. My risk calculus on the elevated deductible came back to bite me after having to use it after only 18 months of having that coverage in play but risk is name of the game in insurance, and risk is all about managing probabilities and that's exactly what gambling is all about (how about that for a segue?)!
FRYS charitable gambling stayed white hot over the month of March as the Queen of Hearts extravaganza reached a fever pitch at Boxers. So much so that SBF's parking lot was full of Boxers' patrons at 5PM for the last couple of Wednesdays. The excitement of drawing the Monarch of Love seduced gamblers into testing their luck in the courts of FRYS' pull tabs.

E-tabs’ demand continued to the torrid pace, touching $164K, the second highest monthly total in FRYS history, trailing only that of December 25’s $166K. However, the gross profit margin improved to 13.04% this time around compared to December’s at 11.53%, resulting in gross profits of $21K against December’s $19K
Robust demand spilled over to paper tabs, which hit an all-time record high in monthly sales at $113K, exceeding January 2026’s total of $107K. Unlike e-tabs that saw its margin expand in the two dates of comparison, paper tabs had the margin weaken to 16.26% for March, a notable drop compared to January’s 22.55%. So even though paper tabs hit record revenue, the deterioration in the margin meant it was not record gross profits at $18K where January had $24K in gross
Seems gamblers favored the thrill of pull tabs in March as Bingo sales retreated to a 3-month low at $16K, delivering gross profits of $3K.
Even though the probabilities did not blossom in FRYS favor, the organization should still be ecstatic that a new monthly revenue record was established in March, totaling $297K in total sales across e-tabs, paper tabs and Bingo, topping January 2026’s $291K.
Wrapping it all together, FRYS posted net income of $7K for the month of March, bringing year-to-date profits to $78K, ahead of last year’s $72K at the same time in the campaign.

In other FRYS news, the MN State Audit is ongoing with copious amounts of documentation, played games and organizational records supplied to the auditors. While there has been a little feedback here and there, by in large, it has been silent….no news = good news?
And three cheers for the Wild & Timberwolves in their postseason competition!
Have a good one,
Chad
