Good day FRYS, A rather gloomy report for membership today is on deck as the volatility and probabilities of gambling took center stage, leading to a tough month. That volatility and probability took hold in FRYS’ largest operating segment, e-tabs. Revenue was acceptable at $112K (YTD average = $117K) but that’s where the good news ends. The gross profit margin collapsed to the lowest ever recorded in FRYS’ charitable gambling history at 6.67% (!!!!!!!!!!), eclipsing the previous record low of 6.93% in August 2024. For reference, the year-to-date gross profit margin averaged 15.73%, so the 6.67% is an astounding level of horrendous that delivered gross profits of just $7K, the worst since the covid era when foot traffic and volume was suppressed by a global pandemic - that's how bad e-tab performance was for June 2025....the thrills of gambling! The gloomy report does not stop there as sales of paper tabs fell to the lowest totals since September 2024 (first month of the fiscal year), summing to $63K. The margin held up alright at 15.2% (YTD average = 18.6%) for gross profits of $10K. Bingo managed the most respectable of all the regular games, pulling in $15K in revenue and $3K in gross profits – yippee! On a positive note, the annual Rotary Raffle delivered sales of $17,800 while paying out $4,100 in prizes. For those curious, that means gross profits of $13,700 at a margin of 76.9%, unquestionably the most profitable form of gambling the organization undertakes, although a raffle is more like a fundraiser, but the math holds just the same. That incredible level of profitable was needed as FRYS doled out a painful $14K in taxes to St. Paul over the month, nearly chewing through all the gross profits the standard gambling operation produced and would have led to a net loss in the month if it were not for the raffle. Ultimately, the organization made a meager $1,149 in profits for June. However, there is some light in the darkness as the taxes paid to St. Paul next month are slashed to just $6K, putting FRYS back on track to reach the milestone goal of $100K in earnings for 2024/2025 as year-to-date earnings through June sit at $84K. FRYS has averaged $8K a month in net income, so the organization will need a strong finish over July and August to clear the $100K net income threshold for 2025 – GET DOWN TO BOXERS AND SUPPORT FRYS!!!!!!!!! |
