Darcy provided an illustrated talk on the "Rotary World Help Network". He described briefly his many years of experience in this international humanitarian aid programme which he regarded as one of the great pleasures of his life. He operates under the motto "a new adventure every day", and he illustrated examples of this with his endeavours to ship equipment and materials to assist peoples in various countries. Examples of these were collecting and sending medical supplies to Kiev, Ukraine, balloon tired bicycles to Uganda and fire trucks to El Salvador.
The vote of thanks was presented by the PE Gillian.

Here is a test to find whether your mission on earth is finished:
If you're alive, it isn't.

Thought for the Day: I am certain that after the dust of centuries has passed over our cities, we, too, will be remembered not for our victories or defeats in battle or in politics, but for our contribution to the human spirit. - John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 1917 - 1963

What Paul Harris Said:   "Throughout time there have been Protestants against the idea that happiness is to be found in possessions. The Great teacher said that happiness comes from within. The destitute philosopher Spinoza refused the gift of one thousand dollars because he feared it would pervert his mind"

Paul Harris - address to the 1943 Convention at St. Louis

Joke for the Day:  A group of 40 year old buddies discussed where they should meet for dinner.  Finally, it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View Restaurant because the waitresses there were young and very hot.
Ten years later at 50 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner.  Finally, it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the food there was very good and the wine selection was excellent.
Ten years later at 60 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner.  Finally, it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because they could eat there in peace and quiet and the restaurant had a beautiful view of the ocean.
Ten years later, at 70 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner.  Finally, it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the restaurant was wheel chair accessible and they even had an elevator.
Ten years later, at 80 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner.  Finally, it was agreed that they should meet at the Ocean View restaurant because they had never been there before.

The Meeting concluded with the Four-Way-Test.
