The holiday season is a time of reflection. A time to look back to assess what has transpired over the past year. We as Rotarians have much of which to be proud. We are small but mighty. A caring, giving, philanthropic club.
Our club helps out the Waterloo Community and the county of Seneca in many ways. Recognizing the magnificent history of our community, we support the Waterloo Library and Historical Society. We provide scholarships to students who participate in Interact, 4-H Capital Days and American Legion– Boys State, In partnering with Waterloo High School, we provide opportunities for brave souls to perform in a talent show. And be it rainy, or stifling hot we man the bike aid station for the Musselman Triathlon. We donate food, hats, mittens, school supplies, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene supplies and toys to Cayuga/ Seneca Community Action Agency and Trevor’s Gift. We donate time to Literacy Volunteers and American Red Cross. We build friendships by sponsoring the Rural Urban Dinner which gives the Farm Bureau, Waterloo/ Seneca Falls Kiwanis, Waterloo Lions, Waterloo and Seneca Falls Rotary Clubs the opportunity to meet learn about the agriculture of our area. Of course we cannot forget that Waterloo Rotary has been recognized for its per capita giving; being number one in the district numerous times. And we have a large number of sustaining members who have agreed to give $100 every year to the foundation. The best thing about Waterloo Rotary though is we enjoy being together. We laugh, share, cry and lend a hand whenever needed. Have a Happy Thanksgiving
