Topic

Elder Abuse Prevention

Topic Brief Story

Elder abuse is a growing, serious problem that is often under re-ported, especially in the Latino community. It is estimated that only 1 out of 24 cases gets re-ported in New York State every year (Lifespan et al, 2011). Our goal is to provide your members with culturally relevant information about elder abuse in order to increase their knowledge and awareness of the risk factors, signs, and symptoms of elder abuse, and the available community resources.
