Guest Speaker.
Our guest speaker was our own Peter Clucas, who told us a great story of the trip to Birdsville which he undertook with quite a few club members.
The highlights for him were of course the races (horses, what horses?) and the list of fatalities he found in BrokenHill. The incidents were listed as to the cause of death and then some were just accidents!
The famous Boxing Tent at Birdsville, Fred Brophys, puts on great entertainment
Any one can have a go and a lot do!!
The description of the Birdsville Races as "schoolies for oldie" is very neat!
There is a lot to see and do out there, and air travel seems to be the way to go.
They flew from Wagga to Birdsville via Marree, Broken Hill and William Creek.
The Marree Man is still prominent and the greenies are prosecuting the author for "disturbing native grasses "!!
They stopped at the Dig Tree on Father's Day, then came home via the Coomera Camel Farm, Cobar, then Wagga.
All in all they flew 1668 nautical mile, with ten aircraft, and 28 persons..12 0f whom were Wollundry members.
