John Gray was the Sergeant and he asked Wal Paton to carry the box. He fined Wal for his two week sea cruise. Kat actually carried the box for Wal.
John then appropriately linked club members with horses running in the Melbourne Cup. The first and most obvious one for John was United States which he charged Paul Murray for. He then proceeded to fine Michael Georgiou, Mal Robertson, the Aero club members, Jeremy Riethmuller, Alan Eldridge, Travis Downie, Rob Willis, Laurie Blowes, James Hamilton, Frank Fuller, Michael Eldridge, Darren Wallace and Graham Burmeister.
Cross fines came from David Benn recognizing an Australian School of Sports Life Membership award presented to John Ferguson. Well done John.
Kat updated members with her activities... including changing families, now with Darren and Kathy Wallace, a winning water polo team, receiving a class award, golfing with David Foster and President Geoff and dinner at Mark Hillis's.
Neil Pinto updated members on his life history. He was born in Bombay in 1958 and moved to Perth in 1970. He attended grade school at St Norberts College, and his family moved to Melbourne in late January 1970. Coincidentally, Paul Murray began teaching in St Norberts in February 1970, two weeks after Neil left. Neil was a very lucky fellow. (comment from editor).
He attended Melbourne Uni and joined the Air Force in 1985. He was not pleased to be transferred to Wagga. He married Nola in 1986 and purchased a practice in Wagga. From 1995 to 97 he went back to uni in Melbourne and then to Chicago. In 1997 it was clear, Wagga was where Nola and Neil wanted to be.
Neil enjoys cycling, refereeing cycling, fishing (especially Barra) and Rotary. He says that he has received much more from Rotary than he gives and it has been a great support to him.

Our speaker on Tuesday was Dr Damian Candusso. Damian was introduced by John Ferguson. Damian is a Sound Designer. He explained what a Sound Designer does, and that is, to design sound effects. He noted that sound is one of the first senses we experience. In the womb we hear sounds. He showed us some of his motion picture work and explained how he captures sound wherever he can.
Damian is an international multi-award winning sound designer and senior CSU lecturer with over 17 years of industry experience in film, television, animation, games, music and installation art.
Damian has been nominated for three Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) Golden Reel Awards, he has worked on several Australian Film Institute (AFI) and Independent Film (IF) Award winning films, as well as winning many Australian Screen Sound Guild (ASSG) awards. In 2010 Damian was awarded the City of Los Angeles Certificate of Congratulations and in 2002, Damian received the Centenary Medal for Contribution to Australian Culture for his work in the Australian film industry. This was awarded by the Commonwealth of Australia, on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II.
Damian's feature film work includes: The Lego Movie, The Great Gatsby, George Miller's Happy Feet 2, the James Cameron produced Sanctum, Zac Snyder's The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ha'Hoole the Spierig Bros. film Daybreakers, Baz Luhrmann's Australia, and the 79th Academy Award winner for Best Animated Feature Film, Happy Feet. Damian has also worked on over 150 episodes of television including the Henson produced US television sci-fi series Farscape. Damian has worked with many acclaimed actors including: Nicole Kidman, Heath Leger, Abbi Cornish, Brian Brown, Claudia Black and Hugh Keays-Byrne.
Damian was given a vote of thanks by Peter MacKinnon.

It is capable of printing , copying and scanning .
If any committees need to print flyers etc. the printer is housed at Laurie's house.
Members please remember , it is up to you to find a swap if you are unable to carry out your rostered duty .
I do not mind sending an email to all members on your behalf but it is up to you to make sure the rostered duty is covered.
