President's Report.
Once again another weekly meeting full to the hour. Wow what a weekend!!! Thank you for your great support to Laurie & his committee on Friday, Saturday & Sunday to enable us to provide a great community event for the Wagga Community. Thank you to our partners, friends, & volunteers. A top team effort. Thank you to Laurie & his committee for their many hours of hard work which produced a fabulous Food & Wine Festival for 2018. In one week I have never checked the weather so much.
Once again THANK YOU for your support.
Richard Baguley has asked to be remembered to members and may be out of hospital in a week. Thank you to the members who have visited Richard. Potential new members night will be held on 18th April at the Q Bar.
Thank you to Mal, Laurie & Bob for the tent repairs conducted on Wednesday 21st March. Vocational visit will be on 1st May at Erin Earth please place in your diary. We will be supporting the combine Rotary effort for the Tathra Bush Fires once we received more information from DG George Weston.
Happy Easter and safe travels. See you on Tuesday. Have a top week. Thank you for your support.
Our Meeting
A very tired President Paul opened the meeting with Rotary Grace and welcomed our visitor Stuart Heriot
He also welcomed back more travellers especially Peter Crozier, who landed in Wagga just three hours before his shift at the Food and Wine.
Paul also highlighted the New Members Night to be held at  Q Bar (Beer Deluxe) on the night of April 18.

David Byfield presented projects totalling $7500.
!st Wagga Kooringal Scouts were granted $500, Shine for Kids (children of incarcerated parents) also got $500, and the club approved $1500 for Days for Girls, $3000 to the Shelterbox appeal for New Guinea, and $2000 to Rotary Oceania Medical Aid to Children.

Jindabyne Trip
Rob Nicholson put the following together. Should be a top weekend!
3rd weekend in May (Arrive Friday 18th Sat 19th Sunday 20th leave Monday 21st or Tuesday)
Montana Ski lodge is booke.
Mark Hillis is on board.

Montana can accommodate 8 couples.  5 in king beds and 3 in bunk rooms (we could add younger kids if parents want to bring them along).
I think, Mark, accommodates 6 to 8 couples ??
Cost for accommodation three nights and cleaning is $125.00 for non-members.
Meals are home cooked by in house chefs BBQ Bob and Cinders Hamilton or the Wild Brumby Bar?
Food to be planned $25.00 to $35.00 per head per day. estimate

May will be chilly. There are plenty of activities, walking Mount Kosciuszko
peak, bike riding peddle and motor, fishing, relaxing.
On the terrace Canapé Hillis Hilton
Schnapps Appreciation courses 4pm daily.
All suggestions welcome

NATIONAL YOUTH BUSKING CHALLENGE
This is a great initiative by David Pyke designed to highlight our young talent and to bring added interest to the Riverina BMW Food and Wine Festival. It was very well supported and added a great deal of colour and involvement from the wider community.
The outside broadcast from 2AAA was very well received, as was the support of Dale Alison of Alison Music.
The winners of each section, judged by Judy Ferguson, were invited to perform to the Festival. 32 registered, and we are looking to make this even bigger next time.

Food and Wine. Laurie and Paul both thanked the club and all the people who helped for a great effort.
Laurie felt as if there were rolls of barbed wire somewhere on his anatomy, but he was also kissed in the same place by a fairy as it didn't rain at all on the important parts of the Festival!! Friends in highest places!Among a long list of thankyous Laurie singled out Des Damm who erected the fence. The club pays $3000 for this to Des who in turn donates it back to a charity. This year it is going to "Football for All" a charity that encourages children with disabilities to play soccer. The club hopes to have Des along for a cheque presentation shortly.
It was a top effort and the involvement of all the members was greatly appreciated. The lead musical act was from Darren Coggan. He had a great time and hopes to be back to help us out at any time he can.

SERGEANT'S SESSION

John Gray, a sergeant of much experience, regaled  David Foster for even daring to mention the cricket, John Smith for being too forward with some female customers at the beer tent, cutting out Peter Green who also gave the quote of the week "We should have grandkids first!!". Laurie Blowes was granted four weeks exemption from fines, not so generous when you consider he and Del are on holidays and Wal Paton broke the barbecue, explaining it was Helen not him. James Ross was not wearing his pink shirt, but was sporting sideburns from the 60s,and it appears that David Pyke's grandchildren won three busking awards. Then of course Nick Leywood was accused of two timing, but it turned out to be his daughter, and Paul Murray has risen to new heights working for Facebook!!

LUCKY DRAW PRIZE
President Paul won it this week

A Lament from Neil Pinto
President  Paul, guests and fellows. It is with great sadness that I stand here before you today.
We have been through a lot in the past including the cricketing bookmaking scandal; the Andy Symons monkey on the back saga and now the latest issues in South Africa.
Not only has the latest cheating scandal rubbed the ball the wrong way, it has also rubbed the fans the wrong way.
Now fellows, you know very well that am not one to exact revenge or retaliate in any way.
I believe that every cloud has a silver lining and out of all the issues in South Africa, the Aussie cricket team has now got a new sponsor.
As you know, very little clothing manufacture takes place in Australia and the new Aussie cricket uniform, just by chance, has been sourced from my cousins in India.
I have been very lucky to receive a special order of the new cricketing top and I would now like to model it for you.
Not only is it sun smart but it even comes with its own sheet of sandpaper!!!!

Rotary Information

This month we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation of Rotaract

On the 4th March 1968 the Rotary Club of North Charlotte in North Carolina launched the first Rotaract Club for young people aged 17 to 25 years

Within five years there were 288 clubs in Australia

Our first club, Garden City Rotaract was chartered on the 16th July 1979, which unfortunately due to lack of membership, disbanded in 1988

Last year we sponsored the Rotaract Club of CSU Wagga Wagga and it beholds us to give continued support to ensure the success of this new club

The age for Rotaractors is now 18 to 30 years, so if you know of any young people who may be interested in joining Rotaract, please introduce them to CSU Wagga Wagga
This month we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation of Rotaract
