Rotary Information was provided by Ken Cook, who was quick to make the connection between our visiting Rotarian, and the topic that he had researched - the early life of Paul Harris.Rotary's founder was born in Wisconsin in 1868, and was a larrikin at school. He studied Law, but worked in sales, media as a reporter, an actor and a cowboy, before moving to Chicago and opening a law firm.
Paul set up Rotary as a social group, to provide fellowship, and later changed the focus, to service to the community.
The second chapter of this saga was relevant to former exchange students, and Ken announced that another inbound female student would return to visit Wollundry in May.
Fernanda De Barba was hosted by the Hornibrook, Thomas and Watts families during her sojourn in Wagga in 1996. Unfortunately, Ken will be away in Dubai, but his son, Stewart will look after Fernando and Fernanda.The day of the visit is 25 May, and our visitors will be at Infuso Coffee Lounge at 10.00am
