Wollundry Scholarship Winner

Sally Tanner was announced as our Wollundry Rotary Scholarship winner for 2015. Sally attended our meeting with her parents Lindsay and Ali Tanner. PP John Ireland  introduced Sally on behalf of the Scholarship Committee.

Sally told members how appreciative she is receiving the scholarship of $6,000 over three years, as it will assist greatly with her costs, especially books and enable her to fully immerse herself in life at CSU.

Born in 1996 to parents who are themselves graduates of CSU, Sally has achieved much in her short life. A keen dancer, Sally has also represented Wagga in Touch Football and Netball. In the recent University Games her Netball team came second. She only met her fellow members the night before their first game. From these games she has been selected to represent CSU in inter Uni Competition.

Sally has represented Wagga as the Youth Representative to Nordlingen, our German sister City. For her this was a cultural awakening that exposed her to other ways of thinking and other possibilities. She is now a member of the Wagga Sister City Committee. In January she was recognised as the Young Citizen of the Year for Wagga.

Sally will be studying for he Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Microbiology.
