Sergeant Georgiou

Taking the parade this week, Sergeant Georgiou has worked out why Greece has never played a dominant role in World Tennis - Greeks only realise their potential after relocating to Australia, by which time they are called Australians. A quick glance at a few Greek Travel Posters may explain this dilemma. All of Greece consists of small islands, with steep cliffs and white painted houses, leaving no flat land for tennis courts, and no whitewash for marking tennis courts. Michael was proud of the two young lads of Greek heritage that won early round fixtures at the Tennis open.
Not many Sergeants get such easy ammunition as Andy Irvine provided last week. A hole in one, and Andy didn't see it go in the hole - his playing partners had to look for the ball, before finding it at the base of the pin. This leaves it open for allegations of "did the magpies play a role?"
Rob Fuller wasn't wearing his dinner badge, and that incurred a very 1980's fine, but his excuse, "I was running late" opened up a double dip opportunity for the Sergeant.
Then Michael told a joke.
