Firstly, a belated acknowledgement to Peter Green and his selection panel for once again organizing this year’s CSU scholarship candidates. My intention was to make mention of it at today’s meeting, however it slipped under my guard. Good work team, two worthy candidates will gain from your encouragement and decisions.
Another Food and Wine Festival under the belt. A good effort by the Committee, somewhat dampened by gate takings being down, and the inclement weather early in the evening.
Thank you to the members who volunteered to take up meal duties at Lilier Lodge next Wednesday evening. It is satisfying to support former Club member, Jim Gibson, and his wife Lynne in their ongoing efforts at the Lodge, catering for people who quite often live through trying circumstances while they are guests.
I would also like to acknowledge the members who are prepared to give up their Easter Saturday to work at the Saturday Markets this weekend. Hopefully it will be dry, however there is some rain forecast.
A call will come out after Easter for volunteers to be part of the committee to help determine our way forward as a Club. A lot of analysis, planning and research is needed to set the future direction for the Club.
ANZAC day the 25th falls on a Tuesday this year. There will not be a Rotary meeting that day.
