Hi Everyone,
Today was a pleasant meeting with good attendance. A fly in the ointment was the new COVID rules that basically only allow 20 people to a meeting as of Mon 11th. We cannot even split to 2 rooms as one booking only can be made for 20. Watch this space as it could change quickly. It is pretty drastic for town with no known infections! It will be a case of first in best dressed. However proof of double immunization will be needed and shown to enter the premises. this can be downloaded from the Medicare site; mine is copied into Wallet as easy to access. This is likely to apply to many other venues.
The meeting will be zoomed however. Also as we get the room free it would be nice for all attendees to order a meal and drinks.
I plan to evolve a flood plan for our storage area in North Wagga. We can store everything there at the men's shed in Ashmont if needed. I will try to do an inventory of all the stuff there in the near future as a start. We are lucky the shed was after the 2012 floods.
David Hodge did Members choice and discussed his career over the last 21 years from humble beginnings till today. John Smith did Rotary Information and discussed Foundation and its workings. Phil Macintosh related that preparations for Gears and Beers was going well, but the date has been deferred until next year due to the current COVID uncertainties at present with large gatherings.
With the Saturday markets, the stallholders will all need to have their own individual public liability insurance. This requirement is being disseminated to them at present. The board has decided that rotary will still take and return the BBQ trailer for the Saturday markets, but the rotaract members will run the BBQ still.
The food and wine festival is tentatively booked for the 19th of February next year. Fingers crossed ! Have a good week, and watch the restrictions of public entry as they may change again and thus allow more of us to attend our meetings.
