It was great to see a strong turnout at the meeting today...but I fear it may be because you all thought the IPP Phil was running the meeting again!!It was great to hear from Garth Perkin, member of Coolamon Club and Assistant District Governor for our zone, with some wonderful recollections of his experiences as an almost-eye-surgeon in India. Garth will be back later in the year with a presentation covering his experiences on the Larapinta Trail in the NT.FYI, our guest speaker on 29 August will be Suzanne Westgate, Manager of Land and Property Approvals at Transgrid. Suzanne will be speaking about Transgrid's transition to renewables, their Charles Sturt University Project and possible funding support opportunities with Rotary.Well done to the members and partners/friends going on the golf trip this Thursday & Friday. Thank you for supporting this event. There will be plenty of other social events and short trips later in the Rotary year. Thanks must go to Neil Schirma for his organisational prowess.The vocational visit to Borambola Winery is now scheduled for Tuesday 10th September from 12 until 2pm. There will be nibbles and wine tasting plus a catered lunch provided. Cost to be confirmed shortly. An email will go out to confirm attendance for catering purposes.The first evening meeting and combined social dinner will be on Tuesday 5 September at the Wagga Country Club.
