President Darren opened the meeting with a prayer of thanksgiving and proposed a toast to Phil McIntosh and the success of the Beers and Gears Festival on the weekend.
He gave a special welcome to Dave Mundy and the Wagga Community Band. Former member John Mason was welcomed to the club meeting as well.

President Darren then invited Dave Mundy to the microphone to introduce the Wagga Community Band to the Club. Dave gave a rundown on the history of the band and invited anyone to come and join. He said the band has been going for about five years. It commenced with about nine members and now has over forty, many of whom had never played an instrument prior to joining. He thanked Wollundry Rotary for the financial support which has helped the band enormously. He introduced Ben Fixter, the band conducter and teacher, who was a member of the Kapooka Army Band but has been promoted to a higher rank and now has other army duties.
The band played four pieces under the baton of Ben Fixter: "You'll Never Walk Alone", "The Man From Snowy River Theme", "Les Miserables Medley", and "Sweet Caroline". Club members enthusiastically applauded to the gratification of the Rotary Club Band Members. None mentioned the occasional squeaks.
