AT THE MEN'S SHED

| President Phil dressed the assembled members after opening with a period of reflection. He thanked Rick for organising the Men's Shed as our meeting venue for today at short notice. He also thanked the members of the Men's Shed for the excellent fare they prepared: Sausages and chicken with roast vegetables and dessert of ice cream and fruit salad washed down with their own brew of ginger beer or light ale. |

Rick spoke on behalf of the Men's Shed. He gave a history of the shed including its early days and then the move to the current site, formerly a pony club ground. He thanked Wollundry Rotary Club for their tremendous support and singled out John Ireland, John Mason, and Colin Duff for special thanks. John Ireland gave the Shed good advice regarding the site. Instead of renting the site from the Council, the Shed applied for a change of use for the site which is crown land. The result is that the Shed pays no rent and is able to access government grants more easily. If the Men's Shed organisation collapses the whole site will revert to Local Government to deal with. Following our meal, Rick lead us on a tour of the amazing facility. |
