President Richard opened the meeting with a toast to the Queen and People Of Oz. He then welcomed guests: Dr. Jonathan Medway (guest speaker); Robert and Mary Hawkes; and Viyan Khalaf a year eleven student whom we are sponsoring for the National Youth Science Forum

NEW  MEMBER INDUCTION

Robert Hawkes was inducted into our club by President Richard. He was sponsored by David Benn and is pictured above with David, Richard and his wife Mary. David met Robert through Riverina Bluebell. Welcome to our Club Robert and may you and Mary enjoy many years of fellowship with us.

ONE MINUTERS
John Smith was advertising Oysters fresh from the coast at a very good price. He also told us that the Wagga Aero Club is having the monthly barbecue this weekend on Sunday at lunchtime. Michael (Banjo) Young will be providing entertainment, presumably with a Banjo. All are welcome for a small fee.

Projects Chairman Gerry Gerlach announced that the Board had approved a $3,000 grant to Carevan. This will be topped up with a further $2,500 from a District Grant organised by John Egan. Members voted in favour of a donation of $5,250 to Carevan and our Club will be reimursed the $2,500 from district.

Stuart Heriot drew members attention to the items of clothing in our container at North Wagga. Included are yellow pullovers, Polo Shirts and other Club items such as badges. New members may wish to avail themselves of market outfits. See Stuart who is making an inventory of our property.

NATIONAL YOUTH SCIENCE FORUM
Neil Pinto introduced Viyan Khalaf our sponsored student for the National Youth Science Forum. Viyan thanked Rotary for the opportunity of attending the forum. She told us that she is from Iraq and arrived in Australia with her family in 2019. Viyan lived in a refugee camp for many years and she is grateful for being welcomed to Australia where her brother has had a successful operation to repair a hole in his heart and her father has been treated for cancer. Viyan wants to become a heart surgeon.
