Our meeting was light on with information today and most has been covered by our President and Secretary. There were however a couple of items that should be noted:
- Graeme Obst has resigned from our club due to work commitments. Thank you Graeme for contribution over your time with the club, we hope you will come back to visit from time to time. You will be always welcome.
- Paul Murray spoke about a new website browser that can link to our Rotary Club Website. This will allow searchers to find out what is on in Wagga and to see what activities any organisation linked to the website is pursuing, including our Rotary Club.
- Members Choice was an impromtu performance by Phil Burgess who claims descent from Ethelred who ruled in Northumbria between 950 and 1016. Phil gave a credible history of his family which prompted others to give various versions of their ancestry. John Flynn told us his Irish convict ancestor was transported to NSW for shooting his OWN pig!
- David Byfield reminded members to volunteer their services for the FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL, by nominating a time to work on the sheets which were passed around during the meeting.
- Geoff Breust is looking for GUEST SPEAKERS. Preferably those who have an interesting or informative story to tell.
