President David opened the meeting and asked for Rotary Grace to be sung. He then welcomed guests Judy Sterling and Barb Oakman from the Kooringal Tennis Club and our Guest Speaker Brett Sommerville from PCYC.

In making the presentation Geoff said that the total spent on providing defibrillators is just over $90,000 with $60,000 of that sum coming from our Club. This is an outstanding effort. In accepting the defib. Barb thanked Rotary and said all members would be comforted knowing that the defib would be available in the event of a cardiac event. The oldest playing member of the Kooringal tennis club is over 90.
 
PROJECTS COMMITTEE REPORT
Chair Peter Crozier reported that the Board had approved two projects over $1000 which required club approval:
  • Rural Outreach Counselling $10,000. This project had been submitted by David Post and the money will be used for the mate keeper program to train volunteers and follow up support services.
  • A computer vor Vanuatu $1400. This project was submitted by Col Duff.
Projects not requiring club approval but passed by the Board were:
  • Indian Palliative Care $500.
  • Summer School for Strings $1000.
 
CHRISTMAS CAKES
Paul Milde is taking orders for Christmas cakes once again. Paul also thanked James Hamilton and Malcolm Robertson for repairing a number of our tents. He also thanked those who helped set up tents for Fusion 2019. Volunteers are have been called to set up tents for children function at the MTC.
 
SERGEANT
Dave Foster was today"s sergeant. President Pyke copped three fines for only serving an 11 month stint as Rotary President, for sharing holiday photos and for dispensing on some occasions with Rotary Grace. James Ross and Burmo were fined for forgetting daylight saving and turning up late for duties. James Hamilton wasn't happy with the way council arranged sand bags to hold down tents at Fusion so he went around and rearranged them all. Collingwood supporters were fined once again as were supporters of Richmond, Julian Assange and shareholders of CSL shares. John Ireland and David Benn were fined for their part in achieving awards for V02 Olive Oil.
 
SAILING
Mark Hillis advised that there are only two spots left on the second boat for the sailing weekend. He would also like the email addresses of partners to ensure they are informed of details of the event.
 
LUCKY DRAW PRIZE
Nick Leywood won the bottle of wine.
