This meeting was advertised as a Hillis day, but included quite a few presentations, which were preceded (announced?) by a persistent fire alarm asking us to leave the building.

Not to be deterred John Egan gave us an update on the coming Photography Competition, which has attracted enough sponsorship to cover the costs of the prizes and should therefore generate a surplus. It has been widely publicised on Facebook via District 9705 and the Australian Camera Club, with two entries already received, and 5 weeks to go until the closing date of May 13th. John then provided some tips on using the camera in the iPhone. It truly has become a camera that can be used as a phone!
FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL
David Byfield then spoke on his need for as many members as possible to help with the Food and Wine Festival next Saturday week. He asked all working members to be ready to begin work at 7.00 am on that morning. Adrian Whiting reported that he believed the Festival will be profitable, with 200+ tickets already sold. He thanked David Pike for organising a long list of sponsors.
The next committee meeting for the Food and Wine Festival will be held at Romano’s at 5.30 pm next Thursday, 16th March.

On a lighter note, Doug Sutton reported that he calculated that the average age of the 15 workers at the Saturday market was 76, falling to 72 if the three “youngsters” were included! Wollundry Rotary is extremely lucky to be able to access all that experience!
