After welcoming Willis home from the Safari, President geoff presented a detailed report:

Board Meeting last night at the Commercial Club, the second last for the year. Attended by some of the incoming directors – particularly David Byfield, David Benn and James Hamilton.

 

Board approved a number of Projects recommended by the Projects Committee – they included:

 

 

Board also reviewed its funds for the remainder of this FY – and decided there was up to $16,000 available from the Community Account for worthwhile Projects for approval by 30 June. Have asked Projects Committee to review applications and in particular review applications for funding under the Gears and Beers and Food and Wine allocations for applicable funding.

 

Board also reviewed the position in the Club Account and based on actual performance, has resolved to provide a refund of $50 per member. Members will have the options of:

 

 

The Club Account Budget for next year was also approved by the Board. Subs will remain at $450, plus $50 to Foundation.  Provision jas been made in the Budget for Social activities.

 

The Board also decided NOT to host an international exchange student this coming year on the basis that it has become more difficult to find host families and Wollundry has dome more than its share of hosting. The view is that unless we can have four host families locked in at the start of the year, we should not proceed with hosting.

 

The Board also has encouraged the Gears and Beers Committee to engage a paid admin/marketing assistant and recruitment arrangements are underway.

 

A special partners too social night is being arranged for Wed 14 June at the Wagga Bowl – (10 pin) – for which the Club will cover the $25 cost. Peter Clucas is arranging. Invitations will be sent shortly. We also encourage those who have possible new member contacts to invite them along too.

 

Planning is underway for changeover – Tuesday 27 June. The Club will also subsidise the evening with a contribution to meals and drinks. Invitations will be sent by email not in the post as in previous years.

 

Rob Fuller has resigned from the Club and Kevin Moffatt has indicated he is resigning – both due to work and other commitments.

 

I visited Dave Wishart at Yathong House last Wed – he is very much better and much the old David again. He is hping to be home in the coming weeks and back to Rotary. He would be happy to receive visitors – but not all at once.

Sergeant for today, Frank Fuller, was still on his game. David Benn went for soliciting business with the data base, James Ross for giving his new wife extra work to do by buying silver, John Egan for having to borrow from others, and Pat Ingram was chipped for his barbecue management style.

Frank told a very good story about people who thought they might be Japanese!!

Here is an introduction to the combined conductor, Rachel Campbell

Rachel joined the ARC as musical director in 2014, after having been with them as Assistant Musical Director from 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Music with first class honours and is currently writing her PhD on portraits of musicians in the 19^th Century. She has lead the choir in several high-profile performances in regional centres, and collaborated with professional ensembles such as the Band of the Royal Military College, Duntroon. One of her proudest achievements as MD is the production of the ARC’s first CD entitled ‘World in Union’, which, coincidentally is on sale here today! Members of the Australian Rugby Choir report to me that she is lovingly known as Madam Lash.
