Sergeant's Session
Laurie Blowes was deputising for Mark Sayer, and told a vet joke. We hope that Mark has a short memory, or never hears about this story. Assistant Sergeant Tim Barter has reported that he is flying north towards the Gulf of Carpentaria on a fishing trip, and Laurie noted that he returned from the Melbourne Cup by Cruise ship, and took the call as he entered Sydney Harbour. Perhaps the auditors need to check whether the money we pay in fines is being is being banked into an appropriate account!!!!
There were fines levied as well, mainly the sweep winners from last week, and the incoming recipients of phone calls. Then Laurie went off on a tangent, getting excited about tents for the Base Hospital Fete. A team of Rotarians will be needed to erect tents at the Civic Centre at 7am on Saturday, and to pull them down at around 3pm. Andy Irvine is coordinating this project.
Realising that he was still under budget on fines, Laurie called for all those with cash in their hands “in anticipation” to place it in the box.
