ImageChild Protection procedures and legislation has been a hot topic in the press and public debate for several years. Rotary has programs involving young people in the community, and needs to demonstrate that it takes the protection of these people, while they are participating in our programs, seriously.

George Thomas is aware, as we all are, of the collective “not again” as the forms to be completed are handed out, but exhorts us to complete the paperwork, and to be aware of all the steps in place to protect the young people entrusted to Rotary.

The first point of contact for any concerns regarding youth protection is the District Youth Protection Officer, who has been trained in procedures to deal with complaints.
