Wollundry cricket legend, "Big" Jim Gibson returned from a very successful International Fellowship Rotary Cricket tour of the United Kingdom and Singapore. He is pictured with President Phil with the several Rotary Clubs' banners which the Australian team played against. Although soundly beaten in the warm up test in Singapore, Jim ignited the team with a brilliant performance of swing and pace in the UK, which had the current Australian coach, Darren Lehmann asking "where has this bowler been for the past 25 years!"
Jim thoroughly enjoyed his first IFCR experience and related a great story about the generosity of Rotarians worldwide. The Australian team decided to support the Bourne Rotary Club's project of providing a pottery kiln for the Sense Resource Centre for people with disabilities. The donation would be made by way of "tour fines" as imposed by "Sergeant of Arms", Arthur Manser. Fines plus Arthur raffling his "Bagging Green Cap" at Bourne Rotary Club raised a staggering amount of 1,100 pounds ($2,000). Well done to Jim and the team!
