Digital Photography in 2015

As a practicing photographer for some 25 years he has seen the industry go from film to electronic in very rapid time, and has ridden the wave of change. John explained that really the only thing that has changed is the capture. The rest of the camera controls work in exactly the same way. But the digital signal that replaces film can easily be handled to give some amazing results; results that would have been very time consuming using film, if not impossible. Original photographs are easily modified to change the feel and even the colour of the image. We were introduced to some imaging programmes, but particularly Picasa which is a free Google programme (app) and very very useful. As well we saw examples from Photoshop which is the most widely used imaging programme used by photographers. John also explained a few ways to get better shots with a camera phone . These are becoming more and more sophisticated and are actually the most popular cameras in the world are in 'phones. John was thanked by PP Paul Murray, who is also a very skillful user of Photoshop.  |
