Presidents Year in review

It has been an honour and a privilege to lead this wonderful Rotary club for the past year.
I am especially honoured because I have had this opportunity twice.
86/ 87 and now again 06 /07. Just 20 years apart. Time sure flies when you are having fun.
A quick review of our accomplishments this year.
Club in a Club meeting. We sent out nearly 90 letters of invitation to our open house and we hosted a big party here at the club.
Of the 20 or so people who came and looked us over that day we inducted 5 of them.
The real success of the event was it changed out attitude toward ourselves as a club. We had confidence again and people did want to join Rotary.
We were a club of action again.
We were going somewhere.
In September we had International Humorist Larry Wilde. Who made us laugh and feel good about ourselves?
In October we had a Progressive dinner with the highlight of our Turkish visitors giving us a tour of their homeland by slides at Ram Reddys home.
In November we awarded the Herb Addington scholarship to a worthy young photographer.
Nov 25th we had the Fashion Show. What an event, what a success. We split this fundraiser with Crossreach and it was a pleasure to do so.
In December we had our Christmas party here at the club.
We need to have a minimum attendance of 30 and I fretted in the days before that we wouldn't have enough. As the days came closer we went up to 35 then saw it drop down to 25 before we ended up with just 30 on the night.
January 25th we had a wonderful evening at a Fireside meeting at Teddies home.
On the 28th we inducted Dr.Karim Qayumi, and Dr Herb Forward as Paul Harris fellows and Honorary Rotarians.
In March we honoured our Rotaract President Ishwarya Chaitanya with a Paul Harris award. A very thrilling event done in her classroom in front of her Rotaractors.
We held our poetry contest. Real live poets!
In April our Interact Cub at P.W. held their annual neighbourhood tea.
