President Joyce laid out the 2 sets of goals for the club for  2017-2018.  Firstly, Rotary Central predetermines goals a club should attain or consider and these are clearly stated on the website. The president must state whether the club will meet these goals or not, specifically giving relevant numbers.  She has called for discussion on these goals during a Club Assembly on 15 September.  Briefly, the discussions would be about attaining high standards on topics such as increased membership, Rotarian engagement, club communications and public relations including online presence, updating the web page, outside media presence and social activities. Furthermore, 4 service projects should be undertaken by the community this year. Regarding youth leaders and participants, we will support 2 Interact clubs and strive for 1 Rotaract group as well as 6 RYLA participants. The annual fund, polio and major gifts will also be discussed.
The second set, her personal goals, is dealing with club issues such as concentrating on member retention and involvement; improving orientation for new members by developing a one page information sheet including club status i.e. as a Registered Charity, an impetus for fundraising;  club organization, including committee structure
and number of members involved in each. All members old or new should be encouraged to use their skills or their interests by joining a committee.

A dynamic club uses the talents of all members.

The club should consider producing 3 fund raisers this year and joining other groups such as Surfriders for community projects.

Flexibility as to club functioning, such as meeting days,
times etc was not discussed but will be in September.
