Open House Day
Posted by Bill Bourlet
Congratulations to all of the Arbutus Rotary Club members.
Well done.
Our open house was an outstanding day.
A big thanks you to all of the club members who worked so hard to bring off this day.
The day was a great success.
Whilst I am hopeful that we will have some new members as a result of all our hard work, I am just so pleased that we had great attendance. All commented that it was a well worthwhile event. New members are the life blood of any club and as a result of our efforts our club will be going forward with excitement and stability.
It was commented on afterwards that the conversation has fundamentally changed in our club in our conversation towards membership.

· The meeting began with Bill Rankin leading an upbeat Oh Canada
· President Bill then gave his opening remarks about being a privilege to belong to Rotary and how we were all honored to have so many guests who had taken time out of their busy day to visit our club today and learn about Rotary.
· Mary Stark introduced Reverend Joy Young, a guest to our club who had graciously offered to give the invocation.

· We enjoyed a buffet lunch with Baron of Beef, sandwiches, salads and fresh fruit. The set up of the room was different than usual with smaller tables scattered through out the room allowing members to mingle more easily with our visitors.
· Mary Watson introduced our guests: Geoff Burgess, Paul Jeong, Patti Kay, Harreson Lovick, David Mitchell, Kate Rexin, Rev. Joy Young, Louise Zizka, Sasko Despotovski and Grace Ng
Plus our international visiting Rotarians Refik and Sevilham Artan from Turkey.
We were also honored to have visiting Rotarians Otto Reeve, and President of Vancouver South Grant Yao
