We have a great one coming up on September 8, and we hope you'll join us! We're welcoming Axel Schuster, CEO & Sporting Director of Vancouver Whitecaps FC, for a conversation on what comes next after FIFA World Cup 2026, from the future of football in Canada and the business behind the sport to what's ahead for the Whitecaps. Axel will be joined by Alexander Jecht, Vice-President of the German Canadian Business Association, with the conversation moderated by Navid Morawej, President of the Rotary Club of Vancouver. We're also delighted to welcome members of the GCBA as our guests for the luncheon. This is a great opportunity to bring a friend, colleague or prospective member who might enjoy the conversation and experience one of our Tuesday lunches. Lunch: 12:00 PM We'd love to see a full room for this one. Register and invite someone to join you! |

About this Club Day Join us for a special Tuesday luncheon featuring a panel conversation on generating happiness and appreciation - how giving, gratitude, and connection build stronger relationships, businesses, and communities. The meeting opens at noon with lunch and the Secretary's announcements. At 12:45 we move into the panel: a lively, member-hosted conversation with our panelists, sharing practical, research-backed insights you can apply in your everyday life and leadership. It is a topic that speaks directly to Rotary's values of service, fellowship, and community. Featured Speaker Dr. Lara B. Aknin Click here for more information
Panel Michelle Ng is the Founder of Vancouver Foodie Tours and Granville Island Delivery Co. For 16 years she has built both on one conviction: food is the fastest way to build connection. More than 75,000 guests later, she brings a practitioner's perspective on what it actually takes to create happiness and appreciation, day after day. Kevin Hayes is a sales and marketing professional. He brings his industry experience to the Rotary Club of Vancouver and contributes to our community through active participation. Please join me in welcoming Kevin Hayes.Link to our event. |

Sep. 30, 2026
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. This federal statutory holiday was created through legislative amendments made by Parliament. Wear orangeBoth the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day take place on September 30.
Orange Shirt Day is a commemorative day led by Indigenous communities to raise awareness about the intergenerational impacts of residential schools on children, families, and communities. It honours Indigenous children who were lost in the residential school system. The orange shirt symbolizes the loss of culture, freedom, and self-esteem that many Indigenous children experienced. This day reminds us that “Every Child Matters”. On September 30, all Canadians are encouraged to wear orange to honour the thousands of Survivors of residential schools. |
