Our next meeting, the first meeting of the 2024-25 Rotary year will be focused on our members. Franco will provide a more detailed presentation of what his vision is for the year and what his goals are for the club. Goals that will require the help and support of all of our members. We look forward to seeing you at this important meeting.

Coming with our new Terminal City Club contract comes some increases in our meal fees as a result of increasing food costs. What this means for you is an increase as follows:
Pay-as-you-go, guest & 3-meal option: $57 per person

The Ride is in need of cash & in-kind donations and would like to see an increased registration for the family ride. The family ride is a shorter ride where everyone is welcome whether it be an individual, a family group, or a team. Join the fun – don’t let the length of the full ride discourage you from participating.

28th ANNUAL ROTARY POT OF GOLD CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
JULY 16th, 2024
The Rotary Club of Royal City, New Westminster is hosting their annual fundraising golf tournament. 120 golfers will tee off in a shotgun start - WILL YOU BE ONE OF THEM? single and foursome spaces booking fast. The course is in fabulous condition. Four par 3 holes offer hole-in-one prizes totalling $250,000 on the day. And it can be done!! One year, a lucky golfer aced the contest hole and took away a $15,000 diamond engagement ring. Some golfers came close last year, will that be you this year? . AND THIS YEAR ALL GOLFERS WILL HAVE 4 CHANCES TO WIN A HOLE-IN-ONE PRIZE OF UP TO $50,000!!!
Can our club get a team or two together? Contact Jason or Franco if you are interested. Why not bring some business colleagues along?
Let's make this a fantastic Rotary out-trip with as many of our members as possible. There's not many opportunities to really have fun together for more than a few hours, getting to know one another better, and forging new relationships both within our club and external to it. If at all possible, please consider joining the group.
Note if our club has enough people attending, there is an option to coordinate and book group housing (15 or more rooms).

Chair’s Announcements:
Welcome to our guests, new and returning, as well as our own members who have taken time out of busy schedules to attend. We are grateful to see new faces, remember guests are ALWAYS welcome at our meetings.
Paul McCrea was recognized as an Honorary Member. Paul has been a Rotarian for 57 years, having joined in April 1967. He is a Past President (1981-82), a Paul Harris Fellow +9, and a member of the Rotary Bequest Society. Paul has done an awful lot over the years for the Rotary Club of Vancouver and for the City of Vancouver. Included in his participation and leadership is hosting the annual men's weekend at Wunday Ranch for about 45 years. His crowning achievement as our Club President was to set up a Club Action Office working, ultimately successfully, to convince the provincial government to proceed with both the Convention Centre (Canada Place) and Expo '86, which it had cancelled in 1982. Throughout his years as a member, Paul has made the effort to attend almost every lunch meeting demonstrating that participation is key to a fulfilling Rotarian experience. Thank you Paul!

Jason Boudreau, provided a year-end report talking about the club highlights and challenges faced through the year. He also thanked all who contributed to the overall success of our club by leading and participating on committees and to the Board members who have helped develop the vision moving into the future.
Mary Anne Velayo, the Assistant District Governor, for her last official duty with our club, installed the incoming Board.
The Leadership Team of a Rotary club creates the shared club Vision and supports the District & Rotary International Vision. This ensures that the organization is fully integrated to make our world a better place.

Kendall Jessiman, Past President (2021-22), said a few words, thanked Jason for the work he did as President, and Franco for taking up the gauntlet.
Franco Gallo, accepted the gavel and the original club charter document to start his year as Club President. He gave a brief, high level overview of his goals for the upcoming year. More of this to come at the first 2024-25 meeting on July 9th.
Meeting adjourned with a toast to the Rotary Club of Vancouver.
