February 20, 2024 - CLUB DAY
Membership Networking - YOU ASKED FOR IT
You, the membership, have spoken. You were heard. Networking with your fellow Rotarians is a priority for you and with the meeting format we've been following for a long time it hasn't been possible to do at our regular lunches.
We all understand that some of the key benefits of membership networking is the opportunity for individuals to exchange ideas, information, and resources with others who have similar backgrounds or experiences. By actively participating in these networks, individuals can strengthen their professional relationships, broaden their horizons, and create opportunities for growth and success, both personally and professionally.
Membership networking also offers a sense of belonging and community, providing members with a support system of like-minded individuals who understand their challenges and aspirations. This sense of camaraderie can be especially beneficial in supporting our members, and thus ensuring the ongoing success of our club.
Therefore, we are pleased to let you know that member networking will be the focus of our club days with the first to be on Feb. 20th. We are hoping to have a stellar attendance so that we can make the most of our time together, revitalizing established connections and sowing the seeds for new ones.

On February 27th, you can learn about the Legend of Turtle Island with James Groening (@blueskyjwg), a Cree artist who specializes in the Woodland Art style. This immersive guided painting workshop will feature an introduction to the story of how Turtle Island was formed, while the artist leads participants in a guided painting session inspired by the legend.
In lieu of our regular luncheon meeting we enjoyed what has become our annual joint meeting with the UBC & Vancouver Young Professionals Rotaract Clubs. It was great to connect and hear about recent and upcoming projects and initiatives. One clear message coming out of the meeting was that getting together once a year isn't enough. Plans to strengthen the connection between our clubs will be in the works.
Thanks to all who attended including, Rumana Monzur's daughter, Anusheh, who is the President of her Interact Club, and DG Shirley-Pat. Every person there contributed to the positive energy in the room.
Event adjourned with a toast to building connection through Rotary.
