Tuesday Nov. 12, 2024 Remembrance Day & Youth Services
For this meeting, we will be honouring Remembrance Day and those who fought for our collective freedom with L. Col. Roderick Bell-Irving from the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada speaking.
Additionally, our Youth Service Committee will be making a presentation bringing us all up to date on the work they've been doing and continue to do.
L. Col. Roderick Bell-Irving is a direct descendent of a Canadian Veteran of WWII and it was his father who declared Marshall Law in the Netherlands. The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada liberated Amsterdam. The Seaforth Highlanders have a group of 50 travelling to the Netherlands as of April 24 to May 7, 2025 to trace the steps the Canadians took in World War 1 and World War 2.

Graham Fox was inducted as our newest club member. Welcome Graham!
William Donnellan announced that their newest pub location will be opening in Dunbar -- The Shamrock.
Rene Abi-Rached welcomed everyone with friends and families to attend a holiday dinner celebrating Christmas and Hannukah, on Wed. Dec 18th. More info will be coming out soon.
Program:
Joan Posivy to lead business panel chat/question period, featuring Aaron Lacey, Owen Lu, Manuj Aggarwal, and Frederique Niel. The topic was very interesting and timely: Artificial Intelligence and how it can positively impact our lives, both personally and especially professionally. Each panelist brought a unique viewpoint and experience to the conversation that was key in rounding out the discussion.
There were non-stop questions from the audience, all gamely responded to by the panel. A lot of wisdom and experience fed the responses to help the audience understand the many aspects of using AI. It was very clear that AI can be transformative. There are so many benefits to be had if used correctly.
No one yet knows what the future will look like but we are quickly moving forward and it is certainly a good thing to embrace these tools within your own personal and/or professional lives. The key is to determine in detail, exactly what it is you need and are looking for and then choosing an AI tool (there are many) that is strong in that area.
