On 7/26 @ 9:30am the RC of Windward Oahu Sunrise will deliver 45 meals and water bottles to the Windward YMCA for the Kailua Service Care Event.
Our Club's meals are just one part of this Kailua Service Care Event, which also provides houseless individuals:
--Snack Packs provided by Kailua United Methodist Church
--Hygiene items donated by various groups and individuals
--The Hie Hie shower van
--Haircuts by Cheryl
--Daybreak clothes closet
--UH Medical School free exams/ tests/ transportation to scheduled appointments.
--IHS housing and job training opportunities
The State of Hawaii has many services available to houseless individuals, but it is often difficult to get them to accept them or there are other boundaries that make it difficult to access these services.
This Kailua Service Care Event is such a special event, because it gives them a one stop shop for a good meal, a haircut, a shower, fresh set of clothes and even a medical evaluation.
