Starfish Backpack Packing Day - Volunteers make the day.
Throughout the school year, most Fridays, a group of dedicated volunteers come together to pack bags of food to be distributed to schools.
These volunteers meet each week at about 7:45, to pick up food, deliver it to Parkside school, arrange it, pack it and then transport the bags to individual schools. These bags of food, are then sent home with some children to alleviate the hunger on the weekends.
The cause is near and dear to our hearts. The volunteers that do this believe in helping others and continue to come each week to support the Starfish Backpack Program. School will be starting up again soon and we will begin packing food bags again before the end of September.
THANK YOU just doesn't seem like enough, but we mean it with our whole heart.
