Caledonia High School Interact Club

Interact clubs are designed to engage, “youth leaders who want to join together and tackle the issues in their community that they care most about” -Rotary.org. Members have the opportunity to make a difference in their community, learn leadership skills, make connections with other youth leaders and most importantly have fun!
 
The Caledonia Secondary School Interact Club participate and outreach to their school, community and participate in worldwide projects. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Terrace Skeena Valley and a comparison I have made is that both clubs although small are passionate, energic and work well together to make a difference!
 
In no particular order, here are some of the ongoing events during the 2016-2017 school year.
  • Organized the Caledonia High School Anti Bullying Assembly
  • Organized High School Food Drive -> Local Food Banks
  • Donate to the Breakfast Club -> Community School Breakfast Program
  • 9 Members Participated in “WE Day” Vancouver -> Empowering youth that together WE can change the world
  • Organized the Battery Drive -> Helps Zinc Deficiency Children
  • Organized a Book Drive -> Fundraising for reading programs around the world
  • Christmas Shoe Boxes -> Ensuring that every child has a Christmas gift
  • Relay for Life Team -> Fundraiser for Canadian Cancer Society
  • Hosted a Dinner for three Syrian refugee families in Terrace
  • Attend RYLA Lakelse, RYLA South and Adventures Programs -> Rotary Youth Leadership programs
  • Participate in Highway Clean Up (Rotary Club of Terrace and Terrace Skeena Valley)
  • Participate in the Terrace Trades Show; Sell 50/50 Tickets (Fundraiser for The Rotary Club of Terrace Skeena Valley
All the members in the Caledonia High School Interact Club embodies positive energy, a passion for helping others and challenges everyone that they can make a difference if we work towards a common goal. This team shows initiative and innovation in the project they participate in and dedicates endless time outside of school hours to ensure other youth in the community and around the world have equal opportunities.
 
I am truly honoured to have worked along side these inspiring students this past year and I can envision these future Rotarians building connections and making a difference in the world!
