Special Induction Ceremony

The upcoming meeting is set to be remarkable as we will have the honor of welcoming a new member into our midst. We will conduct the instillation of our soon-to-be member, Mish Hood. Let’s extend our warmest welcome and show our support as Mish joins our Rotary ohana.

Engagement with District Governor Mark Merriam

We are also delighted to introduce our featured speaker, District Governor Mark Merriam. A respected leader and a beacon of service in the Rotary community, Mark's relationship with Rotary began shortly after his graduation from the University of Hawaii, sparked by an invitation from his sponsor, PDG Mike Lyons. Over the past four decades, his journey with Rotary has been distinguished by a series of leadership roles—ranging from Chief of Staff and Assistant Governor to heading international service projects and RYLA chairmanship.

In his professional life, Mark is at the helm of AlohaGraphics, a Honolulu-based print shop renowned for its excellence in color digital printing, now in its 27th year of operation. His passion for service extends beyond his business and Rotary as he has been a steadfast participant in Scouting since his youth. Mark's role as Scoutmaster has been transformative, not only for the 50 young men who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout under his guidance but also for the community that benefits from their leadership and service. His dedication to Scouting has been recognized with the prestigious BSA Silver Beaver Award and the Cliff Dochterman Award.

For Mark, Rotary is more than a commitment—it's a family legacy. He shares this journey with his wife Kathleen, also a past president of the Metropolitan Honolulu club and a past Assistant Governor. Together, they've instilled the values of service and leadership in their children and now enjoy the involvement of their grandchildren in Rotary projects.

We look forward to the perspectives and wisdom Mark will share, reflecting a lifetime of commitment to the principles of Rotary.

A Rally for Full Membership Participation

This session is particularly significant, and I encourage every member to be present.  As we gather in fellowship and welcome new members, let’s make this a memorable occasion for all, especially for Mish as we celebrate his induction.

I am looking forward to a robust turnout that reflects the vibrant spirit of our club.
