President's Message for January, 2015

Happy New Year, Rotarians!

As a New Year dawns we have a lot to look for-ward to. Our main fundraiser is well underway, thanks to the leadership of committee chair and President Elect Sandee Crisp. All hands will be needed to ensure that this year’s event is the best one ever.

 

Also January's Rotary theme is “Rotary Aware-ness”.

 

Besides learning to write “2015” on checks, January is a time for reflection of what each one of us has accomplished in the last year and of setting goals for the new year. This month, Rotary Awareness means sharing with the community what we do as Rotarians. Before we can explain Rotary to the community, we all need to take a moment to think about what Rotary means to each of us. Why did you join Rotary? What satisfaction are you getting from participating in a Rotary Club? What were your objectives in joining Rotary? Have they changed? It is only by understanding why you are in Rotary and what you want to get out of Rotary, that you can successfully spread the news of Rotary. Be thinking of all of this during January.

 

This month, let's share awareness of Rotary by inviting a friend or co-worker to a meeting. Let's make sure our projects, both for community service and international service, are well publicized throughout our community. Make a point of wearing your Rotary pin on other days than Tuesday.

 

And last, but surely not least, may this be the most blessed year for all Mauka Rotarians
