What a wonderful Valentines Day celebration we had. Our fundraising event has truly become “The Event” for the Kona area. All feedback this year was exceptional with only a very few recommendations for improvement. The food was outstanding, the wine flowed and monies were generously given. We will be able to make a marked contribution to the lives of many West Hawaii students this year.
I would like to thank all members on their hard work in making this endeavor come to life. The many, many months of preparation paid off. This had to be the biggest silent auction we have ever had, at last count was at 194 items. I would love to list everyone’s efforts, but the fear of leaving someone out lends me to just say “Thank You All”, we couldn’t do it with out you. A special congratulation goes to Sandee Crisp, our event chair whose leadership and attention to detail ensured the event came off without a snag. Great job.
Now head back to the work of Rotary, February's theme in the Rotary Calendar is “World Understanding”. Sometimes we focus so much on our club and local events and projects that we lose sight of our International efforts. Think about how our club can help further Rotary's quest for peace, goodwill and understanding throughout the world. How can you personally do so?
