 About Our Rotary Club

The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.

Many other projects undertaken have focused on clean water, hunger, and literacy.  This year, The Rotary Club of Kapaa has provided funding for clean water projects in Nigeria.  On the local front, the Rotary Club of Kapaa has responded to many of the community's needs.  After all, this is where we live.

Our special interest and emphasis is youth.  We provide culinary scholarships for Kauai Community College students and academic scholarships for college-bound high school seniors.  And for younger high school kids, we participate in Leadership Kauai program to help develop future leaders.. Through our support of Hale Ho’omalu, we help strengthen local families and foster the healthy development of children.

While every service organization faces the current challenges of recruiting members, retaining members, and a difficult economy, our club is as strong as ever as we move forward together focusing on the challenges of an ever-changing world.
