It is Club Connection Day!

The ChatBot ate my lunch: A brief history of Artificial Intelligence

Our very own “Zoom Maestro” Brian Dunkel will do his best to explain how it came to be that we now have applications like ChatGPT that seem to be able to respond to arbitrary questions and to write poems about aardvarks in the style of Walt Whitman.  From the science fiction stories of the 1950’s to the current day, we will explore the seemingly unstoppable march toward that day when our “robot overlords” take control and lead us into Utopia – or to our doom.  Either way, it will probably be fine.

Brian received his Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and is currently a Professional Consultant for IBM and owner of eCorporate College.com, Inc., which provides training and consulting services to corporate clients on a broad range of computer technologies.
