"Chasing and Conquering Coral Bleaching"

Dr. David Delaney has a Ph.D. from McGill University and 15 years of experience in academia, environmental consulting, and non-profit groups, where he gained extensive experience in all aspects of marine ecology, threatened and invasive species. He currently works in the Department of Land and Natural Resources’ Division of Aquatic Resources as the State of Hawai‘i’s Coral Planner. He has conducted research on four continents including coral reef surveys in Mozambique. Dr. Delaney received various awards including a Gulf of Maine Visionary Award and University of Maine's Addison E. Verrill Awards for Marine Biology. Also, he won the Ecological Society of America's E.C. Pielou Award. He has conducted surveys, scientific experiments, and published the results in various media (scientific, educational, and governmental publications) including peer-reviewed journals (e.g., Ecology, Ecological Application). His expertise is multidisciplinary but mainly falls into the fields of conservation, invasion biology, marine ecology, and oceanography.
