As one of our 5 core avenues of service, Youth Service is an integral part of our DNA and our mission. The Rotary Club of Downtown Honolulu is the proud sponsor club of TWO Youth Clubs: the Rotaract E-Club 'Ohana (RECO), a community-based Rotaract Club founded in 2021 & the Ke'elikolani Middle School (KMS) Interact Club, a school sponsored club for the 6th to 8th graders at KMS.

Rotaract & Interact are such an important part of Rotary's identity and we are honored to sponsor these two incredible clubs. Learn more about each club below.
Rotaract E-Club 'Ohana (RECO)
Rotaract stands for Rotary In Action, and that is exactly what this club embodies!

Founded in July 2021 by Nicole Baltazar, the Rotaract E-Club 'Ohana (RECO) is a virtual club based in Hawai'i with members from across the globe! They meet online every first Thursday at 6 PM HST.

Rotaract Clubs serve our young professionals 18+. There are both University-based & Community-based  Rotaract clubs. RECO is one of our District's strongest Rotaract clubs, leading many projects and initiatives in Local Service, Youth Service, Networking, and Fellowship.

RECO's Vision
We aspire to show that anyone can be a part of an 'Ohana no matter how far you are, and together we can make a difference no matter how small it may seem at the moment.

RECO's Mission
We unite people around the globe and provide service to our local communities.
Ke'elikolani Middle School (KMS) Interact Club
Rotary Interact gives students ages 12-18 the chance to make a real difference. As a Middle School Interact Club, the KMS Interact Club often times gives students their first exposure to leadership & community service. Under the leadership of Interact Advisor, Ms. Carrie Fizer, students 6th to 8th grade are given opportunities to serve in their first leadership roles, lead service projects, and develop priceless professional skills.

Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Downtown Honolulu will many times join the KMS Interactors in a variety of service projects such as:
  • KMS Campus Beautification Day
  • Beach Clean-ups
  • KMS First Fridays
  • Back to School Supply Drives

The Rotary Club of Downtown Honolulu and the KMS Interact Club also work closely to foster mentorship opportunities for all of the Interactors.
