Welcome to the Rotary Club of Downtown Honolulu
The Rotary Club of Downtown Honolulu is an organisation made up of business, civic and professional leaders from Honolulu dedicated to making the world a better place to live.  We meet every week for a fun and informative meeting and we become friends.  It is through those connections that we can work to get things done in our community.  Through Rotary International we are involved in international causes like immunization, access to healthcare, clean water, sanitation and human rights.  At home, our club focuses on improving the lives of youth in the Downtown Honolulu Area. We emphasize literacy, scholarship, mentoring and community service.

Club Stories

June 2018

Mahalo to Downtowner Bill Turner for a great job on the Dictionary Project for 2017-2018.  RCDH bought dictionaries for hundreds of third grade students at ten different Honolulu schools this year.  Our club members love delivering dictionaries to the schools and teaching the students how to use them.  It is fun to see the light go on in their heads when they start to see how they can use the dictionaries to help their writing!

JULY 14, 2018 - Wal Mart Keeaumoku

Our annual school supply drive to benefit Central Middle School.  Mahalo to the Rotarians and volunteers.  Mahalo to Wal Mart Keeaumoku.

Keep moving the table with the shade!

So thankful for the generosity of the customers at Wal Mart!

Delivering school supplies to Central Middle School!

July 21, 2018, USS Missouri

RC of Downtown Honolulu members head up the stairs to clean up the Teak shop.  Our club volunteers quarterly to help the USS Missouri always remain in ship shape.  The volunteer coordinator, Keven is terrific and he has always got something for us.

Who knew there was so much stainless steel in one ship?...

Part of the fun is to see areas of the ship that are not always open to the public tours.

That's a lot of stainless steel...  And plastic vegetables!

Throughout India and around the world, Rotary clubs are celebrating a major milestone: India has gone three years without a new case of polio. The last reported case was a two-year-old girl in West Bengal on 13 January 2011. To mark this historic triumph, Rotary clubs illuminated landmarks and iconic structures throughout the country with four simple but powerful words, "India is polio free."

What is it like taking a large team to Africa?  It has probably been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. In mid February, I began leading Rotary members from all over the East Coast of the United States through Ghana. I’ve tried to give the team a warm Ghanaian welcome like I’ve received on my earlier trips. A large trip is a real blessing because each person sees Ghana and our work in a different way.
